Bikutsi means „stomp the earth“ in Ewondo. It’s a fast-paced, guitar-based pop music that started in Cameroon in the early 70s but has grown popular all over the world since the early 90s. Here is a television performance of Roger Bekono backed by a familiar cast of characters from the scene (including Gibraltar Drakus playing the guitar) in the late 80s.
