This week on MELT and the band we talked about the Serape effect. The Serape Effect describes the diagonal sling system of the body—how the left hip and right shoulder (and vice versa) are connected through spiraling fascial lines, especially the external obliques, serratus anterior, and latissimus dorsi. When one end of that sling is locked up or compensating, the other end often bears the brunt. So for example, if your left hip is restricted, your body may be over-recruiting the right shoulder
